The District 107 Spring Conference will take place in Tangier, Morocco, on 19-21 May 2023! It’s the highest point in the Toastmasters Year, where the official speech contests will take place
and where we will choose the District Leaders for 2023-2024.
It will be a wonderful opportunity for us to be together once more and learn and enjoy ourselves!

In the main program of our Spring Conference we have CONTESTS.
The International Speech Contest: The most eminent opportunity to LEAD THE STAGE and compete, with one contestant of each Division. The WINNER may go all the way to the finals of the World Championship of Public Speaking!
Other speech contests: we will also have official speech contests in French, Spanish, and Portuguese. These are the District finals!
Evaluation contest in English: this year we are reviving this kind of contest in which evaluators are judged!
The District Council meeting:This is a yearly assembly of District and Club Officers where Club Presidents, Vice Presidents of Education, Area Directors, Division Directors and the District Core team vote for the District Officers for the next mandate. The meeting will be hybrid!
Keynote speeches: You don’t want to MISS OUT this part of our event. Prepare yourself to be both IMPRESSED and AMAZED!!!
Saturday Night Dinner: No black tie nor white tie dress code needed, just DRESS UP and join FUN DANCING and Tasty FOOD!!! There will be a celebration of the contests’ winners at the end of the party. Switch your mood to the FUNNY frequence and come on Saturday night!
Workshops: Sunday morning is the rendez-vous to learn from experts! Many topics will be represented generously to you and if you are interested in delivering a workshop too, don’t hesitate to mention it in the registration form. Your particiption is valuable and welcomed!

KEYNOTE SPEAKER
JEAN GAMESTER, INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR REGION 10
Jean Gamester, DTM, of Cardiff, Wales, is a business school lecturer at The Open University in the United Kingdom. In her role, she educates on leadership, strategy, change, creativity, and innovation. This work builds on her international, multi-cultural, and multi-sector corporate change and leadership experience that includes company-wide strategy development, consulting, and implementation. She has master’s degrees in Economics and Human Resource Management and is currently pursuing a professional doctorate in organizational change.
A Toastmaster since 2006, Gamester is a member of her home club, Cardiff Toastmasters, and is a past District Director and Parliamentarian of District 91. As a member of the Toastmasters International Board of Directors, Gamester is a “working ambassador” for the organization.
She works with the Board to develop, support, and modify the policies and procedures
that guide Toastmasters International in fulfilling its mission.

MOHAMMED QAHTANI'S BIO
Mohammed Qahtani, a Saudi Arabian engineer, won the Toastmasters World Championship of Public Speaking. Qahtani won after several eliminating rounds that took six months with 30,000 participants from more than 100 countries.
Growing up he suffered from severe stuttering but he was able to overcome it by facing his fears, pushing the envelope and performing on stage. He is passionate about public speaking and stand up comedy. He has participated in several conferences around the world where he inspires people to chase their dreams.
Mohammed speaks about several topics such as coping with change, empowerment in the workplace, building the perfect team, the art of negotiation and using powerful words when speaking.

Abdessamad Charkaoui is a highly accomplished CFO with extensive experience in finance, management control, and operations. He is also currently pursuing a PhD in Business Intelligence & Analytics and Decision-making performance, reflecting his strong passion for data and analytics. He strongly believes that if we can’t measure a problem with data, we can’t improve it.
Since joining the Casablanca Toastmasters Club community in September 2021, Abdessamad has discovered a second passion for public speaking. He is dedicated to improving his communication and leadership skills, and he recognises the importance of effective communication and strong leadership in driving organisational success.
Workshop Summary:
The purpose of the workshop is to provide a user-friendly Excel template and share best practices related to data processing. Non-tech users can feel more confident in collecting, storing, analysing, and visualising feedback data, and they will be able to make more informed decisions about their public speaking deliberate practice.
This approach can help participants identify areas for improvement and track their progress over time, ultimately leading to greater success and confidence as speakers.
Overall, this workshop aims to equip participants with practical data analysis skills and tools that can have a positive impact on their personal and professional development.
Ali studied Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering at university and he always kept his passion for the world of computers and programming. Over the past 25 years he has started, sold and closed several businesses. Ali is a serial entrepreneur who believes that passion and vision are the most two important ingredients for a successful startup.
Today Ali uses his experience in IT and Public Speaking to help entrepreneurs in their journey, building successful business & raising millions of euros in fundraising rounds.
He is currently mentor at numerous incubators/accelerators, and board advisor at several Startup companies.
Daniel Romero Gonzalez started Toastmasters six years ago and this changed his life. He was an student of engineering, and now he is the director of a communication agency. Dani participated in 4 division contest of Barcelona and Mallorca, and got the 3rd podium this year in Division. He loves to dance bachata, bad jokes and tongue twisters.

Fatima-Zahra Filali is an ICF executive coach, consultant in personal &
professional leadership and in Global NOVA psychometric profile,
university professor, trainer of trainers & entrepreneurship advisors and speaker.
Since 2017 and after nearly 18 years in strategic financial consulting (various
strategic sectors & clients advised), past Director of the Corporate Finance division
in investment banking, she refocused on the Human to "be at the service of
fulfillment, lead to success and leave a lasting impact". She chooses the mindset

Workshop summary: What’s your story? My concern is that some of Toastmasters are shy or embarrassant or not relevant to tell about their stories. My own experience and my stories that I openly share in my speeches connect and resonate with most of others if not all.
I want them to be more bold in sharing their stories in beautiful, and life changing ways, so can be a learning experience as well to others. “Spreading ideas and created change by telling stories.”

João Antunes is an experienced Toastmaster from the Lisbon MBA Toastmasters Club. He holds a PhD and is a Distinguished Toastmaster.
Workshop summary: for many, the most valuable aspect of Toastmasters is the evaluations they give and receive.
